Meet the team
Nick Barnett, CEO
Nick has over 10 years experience of working across a combination of telecoms, technology, online media and advertising and brings a wealth of relevant experience to the role of CEO.
Immediately prior to Mippin, Nick was Managing Director of an innovative company in the online advertising industry, working closely with ad-agencies, publishers and ad-networks across Europe.
Previously he was Vice President, Corporate Strategy and Development at O2/Telefonica where he was responsible for leading key operational, strategic development and M&A activities.
Prior to O2 Nick worked at McKinsey & Company specialising in the TMT sector, working with a range of telecoms operators, equipment manufacturers and telecoms service providers, mainly focussing on new product development & market expansions, as well as managing a number of e-commerce business-builds .
David Mannl, Creative Director (co-founder)
David Mannl is Creative Director and co-founder of Mippin, which brings the web's best content to mobile devices. Previously, David was a Senior Multimedia Designer at T-Mobile International in London. From 2002 he worked with Siemens Mobile and Macromedia, specializing in Flash for mobile devices. David loves mobile design and technology, and takes pleasure in creating a great user experience on the small screen. He is a Macromedia Max award winner, Nokia Developer of the Year and Forum Nokia Champion and Nokia Innovator of the Year and Google Android Developer Challenge Winner (ADC2).
Judy Gibbons, Chairman
Judy Gibbons has over 25 years experience in the computer industry with a focus on software, digital media, online advertising & consumer Internet. She currently serves as Chairman of Mippin and is on the board of Autoquake.
Before joining Accel, Judy was Corporate Vice President of MSN Global Sales and Marketing at Microsoft managing the business across 40 markets worldwide. She joined Microsoft in 1994 to launch MSN in the UK and went on to manage MSN Europe. Later she ran MSN International additionally covering South America, Asia Pacific and Japan and then MSN Worldwide including US Sales & Marketing.
Judy also serves on the board of the Guardian Media Group and Virgin Money Giving and previously was on the board of O2 until its purchase by Telefonica.
