Understanding Mippin
Q: What is Mippin and what can it be used for?
A: Mippin optimizes the latest content from websites into the perfect format for mobile phone screens. It provides users with instant and convenient access to the most up-to-date news, blogs and other business and lifestyle information. It also helps online publishers and advertisers to more readily distribute their web content and targeted branding messages to mobile audiences.
Q: Is Mippin free?
A: Absolutely! Only your mobile phone operator charges may apply. Consult your operator if you are unsure of your mobile data/mobile internet tariffs.
Q: How does Mippin work?
A: When you visit a website from your phone, Mippin automatically gathers the latest content and delivers it in the best format for your phone's screen size. It works for websites listed in the Mippin directory and those you visit by entering a website address (URL) in the Mippin entry box.
Q: Will Mippin work on my mobile phone?
A: Mippin will work on most recent mobile phones that have a color screen, access to the mobile Internet and a browser. Technically speaking, the service is ideally for WAP 2.0 handsets with a minimum screen width of 176 pixels.
Q: Do I have to download something?
A: No. You can use Mippin with the browser that is already installed on your mobile phone.
Q: What websites can I access with Mippin?
A: Any website that publishes an RSS feed. RSS is a common format used by millions of web sites.
Q: Is Mippin a WAP site?
A: Yes, Mippin is based on WAP 2.0.
Q: Will Mippin spam me if I register?
A: Absolutely not! We will never share your details with advertisers without asking you. However, we may occasionally send you information about important updates to Mippin itself.

Using Mippin
Q: How do I access Mippin?
A: Just enter the following website address (URL) into your mobile phone's browser: http://mippin.com
Q: How do I find websites using Mippin?
A: Use the entry box on the Mippin home page to search the directory of websites. Alternatively, enter the address (URL) of your favorite website and, if it has an RSS feed, Mippin will display the website's latest content.
Q: I visited a website using Mippin, but it doesn't show me the full website page.
A: Mippin focuses on the latest content from websites and displays it in an easy-to-read format for your phone. It doesn't streamline the whole website.
Q: I tried to find a website using Mippin and it said it couldn't find anything.
A: This happens for websites that don't use RSS feeds. Whereas RSS is a common standard used by millions of websites, there are many that don't identify their most up-to-date content using RSS.
Q: How do I personalize Mippin?
A: Just search or browse for the content that interests you. As you use and explore Mippin, a personalised Smart Favorites section will be added to the Mippin home page. Once you register and sign in you will have access to MyMippin which you can populate with your favorite sites.
Q: How do I use MyMippin?
A: Save your Smart Favorites profile to your new account to keep a record of your viewed websites. Just click on "Save to Favorites". You can edit your MyMippin profile by selecting "Show all" and then "Manage".
Q: What are Widgets and how do I add them?
A: Widgets are handy applications that give instant snapshots of information on your Mippin home page (e.g. news, weather and horoscopes). To add to the home page, visit the widgets category under the "Browse" section at the bottom of the Mippin home page. Then simply select the widget you want to add.
Q: How do I add or remove sites in MyMippin?
A: As soon as you view a site or story in Mippin, the title is added to your Smart Favorites (for new users) or MyMippin (for signed in users). Once you have saved your Smart Favorites to Favorites, they appear in MyMippin and you can manage items by selecting the Spanner symbol next to MyMippin.
Q: Can I remove the "Google News", "Weather" or "Featured Stories" from the Mippin home page?
A: Yes. Just click the "X" icon next to each header.
Q: If I removed "Google News", "Weather", "Featured Stories" or another widget, can I add it at a later date?
A: Yes. Just scroll to the bottom of the home page, click the Widget category click "Latest Read Stories", "Featured Stories" or the widget of your choice to add it to the home page.
Q: What does "Vote this site" do?
A: Allows you to rate the sites you like/don't like in order to help other Mippin users discover the good stuff!
Q: How do I know when I am about to leave Mippin?
A: When you click on a link that leaves Mippin, you will see a page that warns you that this is about to happen. It lets you know that you are going to a mobile-adapted version of a full web page.
Q: Can I create my own site on Mippin?
